Family Dinners

The D.O. offers two dinners each year, one in the autumn and another in the spring. The TGIF program prepares the food for these dinners and the staff serves the students and their families. The fall dinner is used as an introduction for new students and their families to the D.O., as well as a reunion for older students and their families. In a short assembly following the dinner, the staff describes courses and events offered during the school year. Selected social service agencies are also present at this evening dinner to explain services for which students are eligible. The spring dinner celebrates the conclusion of the school year. A ceremony follows for the students who are completing the program. The D.O. is committed to involving parents as much as possible. We believe that “it takes a village to raise a child” and we are honored to be a part of that village.
