Iain grew up in New Castle, New Hampshire, next to Portsmouth, where the mouth of the Piscataqua River meets the Atlantic Ocean.  He currently lives in East Middlebury with his wife, Vicki. Iain attended Portsmouth High School, Colby College and Boston University. He has been teaching in the D.O. Program since September, 2000.  Previous jobs before  joining D.O. include teaching at the Hannaford Career Center for ten years, at a lock-up juvenile detention shelter in Boston, and working in Africa for two years for the U.S. Peace Corps. “I love the family, supportive atmosphere in D.O., the push to teach all of our students to become as independent as possible, and the consistent, high expectations that we ask from all of our students.”
First job as a teenager?  I worked in a local drug store as a cashier.

List three things on your bucket list that you’d love to do:  Learn how to fly a plane and get my pilot’s license, visit China, and return to Africa to work with an international aid organization.
